As it is with many native frogs in the west, northern red-legged frogs are not competing well with imported bull frogs. They are slowly disappearing from their traditional habitats.

Michael, that first up close photo of R. aurora is one of the best amphibians shots I've seen. Absolutely amazing!

Thanks Peyton! Frogs have such character, but it can be surprisingly hard to capture in an image.
